After high school, I attended college at
Western Washington University. I first entered Western thinking that
I wanted to do computer science. I got bored with that and went looking for something
else. I ended up sticking with the
Plastics Engineering Technology program. It
was a great program. Most of the instructors were very focused and cared about what
you were learning. I learned a lot about plastics in general. Everything from chemical
composition/miscibility/weathering to manufacturing plastics and the manufacturing
processes. I got experience with composites (fiberglass/kevlar/carbon fiber) and
machining aluminum (to make molds for the manufacturing processes).
